REALBasicReal Software REALbasic, Real Software’s flagship product is the backbone of A-OK!’s code. Not your father’s BASIC, REALbasic is a modern, object oriented development platform that delivers compiled applications for both Mac OS and Windows. Our choice of REALbasic is what allowed one developer to create in a year and a half what would have taken three years in a C or C++ environment. REALbasic can be extended by plugins and OS library calls as well.
Presidential Award for ExcellenceRichard D. Glueck, BE.A. M.Ed. Mr. Glueck, a recognized leader in using space simulations in an educational environment, is a consultant assisting with the educational version of A-OK!. In recognition of his leadership, Mr. Glueck was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching in 1993.

Meshwork

Meshwork is a 3D triangle-mesh modeling program for Mac OS created by 3D guru Joe Strout. It is designed especially for making compact, efficient objects for use in 3D games or on the web. We use Meshwork to build all our 3D models for both the window and external view. It helps us create detailed models that are a fraction of the size created by other modeling programs.

Quesa

Quesa is a high level 3D graphics library, released as Open Source, which offers binary and source level compatibility with Apple's QuickDrawВЄ 3D API. It's a high level 3D engine that sits over Open GL and adds high level functions to Open GL's low level 3D capabilities. The interface between Quesa and our REALbasic code is written by Joe Strout.

OpenGLOpenGL OpenGL is the premier environment for developing portable, interactive 2D and 3D graphics applications. Since its introduction in 1992, OpenGL has become the industryГ•s most widely used and supported 2D and 3D graphics application programming interface (API), bringing thousands of applications to a wide variety of computer platforms. By choosing OpenGL as the backbone of A-OK!’s REALView feature, we can support both Mac OS and Windows, and a variety of graphic hardware.

Space Exploration Engineering

Space Exploration Engineering, Inc. SEE is assisting in the design of the REALTrajectory feature. The resulting trajectory simulation is highly accurate modeling of the spacecraft’s orbital dynamics. We wanted realism, so we went to the experts who get the job done in real missions! SEE provides state-of-the-art orbital mechanics design and analysis skills throughout the aerospace industry. SEE specializes in spacecraft operations, space mission design and analysis, and spacecraft systems engineering.

Made on a MacApple Computer The buzz is “the Mac is back.” We never thought it left! Through its ups and downs, Apple has continuously provided leading edge technology. One of these is Game Sprockets, a set of tools that allow game developers to do some incredible things. We use Input Sprockets to support a large variety of joysticks and input devices for attitude control, without having to write a special driver for each one. And using the Mac OS as a development platform allows us to spend less time baby-sitting the computer and more time cranking out the code! (and the web site, brochures, e-mail, etc.)
