Mission Data Recorder & Strip Chart Graphing
Tool These two features allow the student to
work with a multitude of mission parameters, providing a quick look
during the mission or detailed analysis after. It all starts with the Mission
Data Recorder. Below, the MDR is set up to record all vehicle dynamic and
environmental parameters as well as the attitude control mode, current drain
and sequenced events. Once the simulation is started, the selected data
will be recorded at one second intervals.
During
the mission, you can create simple graphs using the Strip Chart Graphing
tool. Below is a FLASH presentation of strip charts depicting altitude,
velocity, acceleration, roll angle, pitch angle, amps, etc. after a
successful launch. Click the arrows to page left and right.
The
graphic below requires Shockwave
Flash which you can get for free at:
After a mission is complete, a student can save
the entire recorded data into a comma-delimited file for later analysis
in other programs. This file
saves all the recorded data for import into a spreadsheet.
